SUCCESS IN THE JUNE CALL FOR THE PACLE TESTS OF THE CENTRE D'IDIOMES DE LA UNIVERSITAT DE VALÈNCIA
The June 2021 call for the Foreign Language Knowledge Accreditation Tests (PACLE), organized by the Centre d'Idiomes de la Universitat de València, has ended successfully. More than 600 people have taken their exams to certify their skills in different levels of English and French with normality and complying with the security measures set by the center, on June 22, 23 and 25. Both the applicants and the teaching staff have positively valued the organization and development of these tests adapted to the pandemic.
A total of 223 people took the B1 level of English; 310 applicants did it to prove their knowledge of B2 of English and 86 took the C1 of the same language. In the case of French B2, 13 people took the tests that will certify whether or not they have the necessary knowledge at that level for that specific language. Despite the fact that the October 2020 call was held, the more than 600 students who have attended this time consolidate the recovery of normality in this type of tests.
Due to the volume of people registered, the certification tests have been carried out in two different locations in order to guarantee sanitary measures and capacity limitations. Thus, the Aulario III of the University of Valencia, located on Menéndez Pelayo avenue, and the Centre d'Idiomes have hosted the exams, both oral and written, of the levels B1, B2 and C2 of English and the B2 of French.
These exams, which are carried out by the Centre d'Idiomes de la Universitat de València, are endorsed by the Association of Centers for Foreign Languages in Higher Education (ACLES), through the CertAcles seal, and recognized by the CRUE (Conference of Rectors of the Spanish Universities), by the Generalitat Valenciana and by the autonomous governments of Aragon, the Canary Islands, Castilla-León, Catalonia, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia, and also by the Ministry of Defense of the Spanish Government.
Applicants will know the results approximately four to five weeks after the end of the tests. All the people who have applied, regardless of whether they have passed or not, will receive an email with a results report detailing the scores obtained in each of the parts that make up the certification test of knowledge. Each of these parts has the same importance in the overall assessment. The aptitude threshold is 60% of the scores and this score must be achieved in each section. However, it is possible to compensate scores below 60% in one part with the other part of the same section, provided that a minimum score of 50% has been obtained in each part of the test.
After receiving the message, the period for submitting requests for review opens and it will remain open for seven calendar days. Reviews will be requested by email within the established period. Once the review period is over, the certificates will be available in about 15 days.
The Centre d'Idiomes will organize a new call for PACLE tests during the month of September. On this occasion, in addition to the different levels that have already been carried out in June, there will be a test to accredit knowledge of German level B2.
